\u201cThe H\u00f4tel-Dieu of Carpentras (France) completes its renovation thanks to technology! \u00bb<\/h2>\n

With a population growth of 0.7% per year, the Ventoux \u2013 Comtat Venaissin Agglomeration Community aims to rely on this dynamism as well as on the development of digital technology to transform the territory<\/a> and take advantage of new opportunities. As Thierry Borel – Director of Economic and Tourism Development for the agglomeration – points out – many economic projects are carried out by the city and “must make it possible to structure a global offer for companies, as well as those already present in the territory to improve the conditions of their reception, to allow them to develop, and to welcome new companies wishing to come to this territory”.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The conversion project of the H\u00f4tel-Dieu de Carpentras,<\/a> the most imposing hospital in the capital of the Comtat Venaissin, built in the middle of the 18th century at the request of Joseph-Dominique d’Inguimbert, Bishop of Carpentras, today marks the entrance to the historic part of the city. A jewel of Proven\u00e7al architecture and classified as a Historic Monument, it has been undergoing major changes since 2007 in order to transform the former hospice into a living and service building. This reconversion consists in bringing together within the H\u00f4tel-Dieu the Inguimbertine library, bequeathed to the community by Monseigneur d’Inguimbert in 1742, rich in an exceptional collection of more than 300,000 books, the Duplessis museum also called the Comtadin museum, the Lapidaire museum as well as the multimedia library.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch cultural projects in the regions<\/a> are probably no longer possible today. The genesis of the transfer of the Inguimbertine to the H\u00f4tel-Dieu, to create a large library-museum there, unique in France, open to both the past and modernity, dates back to 2007″<\/em>, explains the former mayor of Carpentras, Francis Adolphe.<\/p>\n

As Myl\u00e8ne Gauthier, Director of the renovation project of the Gabrielle-Roy library in Quebec City,<\/a> explains: \u201cThe idea is not to stand out at all costs. The idea is to ask ourselves how we remain relevant, in the library community, but also in our city. The goal is not to copy a model abroad, but to go further. We build for a long time. \u00bb<\/p>\n
